LG Williams is one of the most influential pole-dancing photographers of the first half of the 21st century. His pole work comprises an authoritative record of the era. Williams redefined what a pole photograph is. With uncompromising directness, Williams portrayed his subjects against an everyday background, with no extraneous details to distract from the essential specificity of face, gaze, dress and gesture. His work includes mesmerizing images of pole dancers. This volume offers a selection of his pole-dancing portraits. It is published to accompany a major exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
