In his travels as a missionary in the village of Carries, Haiti, Cullen Vane saw abandoned shoes wherever he went to the point they almost became a ubiquitous part of the landscape. His documentation of the shoes became a short lived obsession as he photographed over 360 in just six days (and many more thereafter).
