Eric's youth is interrupted by his five-year incarceration in prison. Released, he comes out to a changed world that is both harsh and sweet. He seeks to connect: with his family and at a club for gay youth. Desperate, he journeys over a mountain range in a black sports car to reclaim his mother and sister. He faces formidable and tender realities. People around him carry on with their own lives with mingled dysfunction and resolution.
