Kris Kristofferon has an unusual resumé. He was a football star, boxer, pilot, barkeeper and actor, but on his passport, under “occupation”, it reads “songwriter”. His songs have been recorded by at least 500 other artists, from Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash to Janis Joplin and Ray Charles.
