Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) was one of the major literary figures of the world, attempting different genres of literature and art with equal efficiency. Even after seventy years of his expiry, he is as relevant as he was during his life time. Soon after his ?Gitanjali? was translated into English in 1912, he was widely read and accepted in the West.
